How to create central products in Mews Multi-Property

 

In Mews Multi-Property, you can create central products in Mews Multi-Property to manage and standardize products across multiple properties from a central location. You can use this feature to simplify product management, maintain consistency between multiple properties, and save time creating products individually per property. Perform this action when you need to introduce new products to your properties via the Products screen of Mews Multi-Property. 

Note: Mews systems support up to 2500 central products by default. 

To create central products:

1. In your portfolio account, go to the main menu   > Products.  
2. In the Central products tab, click Create product to open the product creation form.
3. Complete all relevant fields as explained in the table table. Fields marked with * are mandatory.
4. Click Create to create the central product.   
5. In the Add this product to properties dialog box that appears, click the Properties* dropdown to select one or multiple properties to assign the central product to or click Do it later to skip this step:
   • If you click Do it later, this creates the central product, and you can view it on the Central products tab.
   • If you select properties to assign your central product to and click Add, you can follow the steps in the Assign and configure central products to properties in Mews Multi-Property help article to configure your product on a property-level.

Field	Description
Internal name*	Enter an internal name for the product. Note: You can only edit the Internal name and Product key from the central product. The system automatically applies any changes to these fields to all service-level variants.
Short name	Enter a short name for places in Mews Operations with limited space, such as in reports. Note: Mews automatically suggests values for the Short name and Product key fields based on the Internal name.
External name	Enter a name you want to list in the Guest Portal, Mews Booking Engine and Mews Kiosk.
Description	Enter a description you want to list in the Guest Portal, Mews Booking Engine and Mews Kiosk.
Ordering	Enter a number to represent the order in which you want Mews to list your products. Note: Lower number positions are higher in the list, for example, 0 is higher than 1.
Image	Click or drag to upload an image you want to display for this product. Note: This is visible to guests when purchasing the product in the Guest Portal, Mews Booking Engine or Mews Kiosk.
Product key*	Enter a unique identification code mapping a product across multiple properties. Note: You can only edit the Internal name and Product key from the central product. The system automatically applies any changes to these fields to all service-level variants.
External identifier	Enter a unique identification code to map the product with other systems.

This creates a central product in Mews Multi-Property. You can now assign and configure the central product on a property-level.
