How to modify VAT rates for products in a quote in Mews Events

In Mews Events, you can edit the VAT rate for products directly in newly created or already existing quotes. This gives you more control over pricing and helps tailor your offer to customer requirements, without changing the product’s default VAT settings in your system. This is useful when you need to create exceptions, such as applying a promotional VAT or adjusting the VAT for a specific event. The system only applies the modification to the specific quote.

  • You can modify VAT at any time before finalizing the quote. If you modify the VAT after exporting the service to PMS, Mews Events does not share the modifications with the PMS.
  • You can only modify VAT rates for products, not for services such as accommodations.

The quote screen in Mews Events

To modify VAT rates for products in a quote:

  1. In Mews Events, go to the main menu Menu arrow right  and click Quotes.
  2. Find the quote which has the product you want to modify, then click View Details or click + Create to create a new quote.
  3. Click Services.
  4. In the VAT column, click to select the new VAT rate for the product.
  5. Click Save.

This modifies VAT rates for products in a quote in Mews Events. The system can then send the new VATs to the PMS billing section during the product exportation.
