How to prepare for e-invoicing in France starting 1 September 2026

The French government is introducing a new requirement for electronic invoicing and e-reporting for all business-to-business transactions starting 1 September 2026. If your property operates in France, this mandate affects how you exchange invoices with business customers. Mews is working to provide a fully compliant solution that integrates into your existing workflows.

Note:

  • Mews is on track to meet the government deadline.
  • Mews is actively developing a solution to meet the mandate ahead of the regulatory deadline.
  • You do not need to take any action right now. We will share setup instructions before the release and keep this article updated.

In this article you can learn about the following:

What is the e-invoicing mandate in France

From 1 September 2026, electronic invoicing and electronic reporting become mandatory for certain transactions in France. Properties must exchange invoices through Peppol, a secure and standardized network recognized across the European Union.

What is Mews doing to support your compliance?

Mews is working to deliver a compliant e-invoicing solution well before the mandate takes effect. The solution is being designed to minimize disruption to your current billing workflows in Mews Operations.

Here are some important updates:

  • Mews has selected Invopop as our e-invoicing partner after a thorough evaluation of commercial terms, technical compatibility, and long-term scalability. Both Mews and Invopop engineering teams are already collaborating closely to meet regulatory deadlines and ensure the solution works as expected. Note: This partner is a certified Plateforme de Dématérialisation Partenaire (PDP) and Peppol Access Point.
  • Mews engineering teams are working closely with the provider to build, test, and implement the e-invoicing solution. The future solution is an integration via Mews Marketplace. When you set up and enable the integration, the system automatically transfers invoice data through Invopop for Peppol-compliant issuance. Note: Mews will update this article with instructions on how to set up the integration once the engineering teams finalize the solution.
