You resolve availability block errors in Mews Events when your property cannot add a new reservation to an event block due to a lack of available spaces. You do this by adjusting the availability in the block so that you can pick up more reservations.
You need to adjust the availability blocks when you see the “Cannot overbook availability blocks” error message during the reservation process. This happens when the space category is fully booked for one or more dates in the block, even though there may still be availability in Mews Operations.

- You can only add availability to blocks based on what is available in your property.
- If your property is fully booked, you must first increase total availability for the space category in the Availability and occupancy report before updating the block.
To resolve availability block errors in Mews Events:
- In Mews Operations, go to the main menu
> Reservations > Availability block report.
- Click to select the availability block where you had the error.
- In Settings, click Adjust.
- Under the affected dates and space category, click Edit.
- Under Blocked amount, enter an increased number of spaces. For example, if you have already picked up 2 of 2 spaces for Tuesday and Wednesday but your property has 5 spaces available, you can increase the block to 3 spaces.
- Click Add > Save.
This resolves the availability block error and allows you to pick up more availability reservations within the block for the selected dates.
