The PMS code of a tax is the code your Property Management System (PMS) uses to identify that tax. As an admin user, you set the PMS code on the Taxes page in the Mews POS back office, so charges post to the right tax in your PMS and in your accounting. You do this when you add a tax or when you need to update its code. This applies to properties that do not use Tax Manager and have a PMS connected.
What the PMS code is:
The PMS code is the code your PMS uses for the tax. Mews POS uses it to map the tax to your PMS, so charges post to the right tax in the PMS and in your accounting.
Note
- You must be an admin user to set the PMS code on a tax.
- Enter a PMS code for every tax. Without it, charges do not post correctly.

PMS code format
Follow these rules when you enter a PMS code:
-
Use up to 32 characters.
-
Use only letters, numbers, and underscores.
-
Do not use spaces.
-
Do not use special characters, such as the slash, asterisk, apostrophe, double quote, or percent sign.
-
Do not use accented letters.
Note: Codes that do not follow these rules can break the PMS mapping and cause revenue to post to None or Other in your PMS.
You can now set the PMS code for a tax in Mews POS. This means charges post to the right tax in your PMS and in your accounting, rather than landing against None or Other.
