PMS Configuration in Mews POS is where you connect your point of sale to your Property Management System and control how sales data flows between the two. As an admin user, you use the PMS Configuration section of Customer Settings to map revenue centres, product categories, taxes, and payment types to their corresponding PMS outlets and accounting categories, configure timeslots for sales reporting, and set global preferences for invoice notes and product grouping. You do this when you first integrate Mews POS with your PMS, when your outlet structure or accounting categories change, or when you want to adjust how revenue and payments are reported from the POS back office. This ensures your POS sales data posts accurately to Mews PMS, keeping your financial reporting consistent and reliable.
Note: PMS Configuration is only visible to users with the Admin role. Non-admin users cannot access this section. This section is only available to merchants connected to Mews PMS. If your account uses a different PMS, this section displays a not-available message.

How to access PMS Configuration
-
Open the POS back office and go to Settings in the left navigation.
-
Select PMS Configuration.
The section is organised into five tabs: Timeslots, Revenue centres, Product categories, Taxes, and Payments.
Mapping configuration
At the top of the page, before the tabs, you can configure two global mapping settings that apply across all tabs:
|
Setting |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Invoice note |
Choose how invoice notes appear in Mews PMS: invoice number with link and signature (default), invoice number only, or invoice number with Mews POS tag. |
|
Product grouping |
Choose how products are reported in Mews PMS: each product listed separately, or products grouped by category. |
Timeslots tab
Timeslots divide the day into named periods used to control how sales are reported to the PMS, for example, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, All day. Timeslots must cover the full 24-hour period without gaps or overlaps.
Add a timeslot
-
Click Add timeslot.
-
Enter a Name, for example, Breakfast, Morning, All day.
-
Set the Start time and End time. Note: End time must be after start time and cannot go past midnight.
-
Click Save.
If timeslots overlap or leave a gap in the 24-hour period, a warning shows, and you cannot save the PMS configuration until you resolve the conflict.
Edit or delete a timeslot
Use the action icons on each timeslot row to edit or delete it. Deleting a timeslot may create a gap that must be filled before saving.
Revenue centres tab
Use this tab to map each Mews POS revenue centre to a PMS outlet and PMS service. This determines where Mews PMS posts revenue.
For each revenue centre, select:
|
Field |
Description |
|---|---|
|
PMS outlet |
The Mews PMS outlet this revenue centre maps to. |
|
PMS service |
The Mews PMS service within that outlet. |
Both fields are required for each revenue centre.
Product categories tab
Use this tab to map your Mews POS product categories to Mews PMS accounting categories.
Preferences
First, choose how you want to match product categories:
-
By timeslots: Map each category separately for each timeslot, for example, morning, afternoon, evening.
-
By revenue centres: Map each category separately for each revenue centre, for example, restaurant, bar.
Changing your preference will reset any mappings you have already configured.
Mapping
Once you set your preferences, the product categories list shows each category with a PMS code field. Select the corresponding Mews PMS accounting category for each POS product category.
Taxes tab
This tab maps Mews POS tax profiles to Mews PMS accounting categories for tax reporting. It may not be visible on all accounts depending on your tax configuration.
Payments tab
Use this tab to map your Mews POS payment types to Mews PMS accounting categories for payment reporting.
The tab has two sections:
Cards
Map each card type, for example, Visa, Mastercard, etc., to a PMS accounting category. You can configure separate mappings for:
- POS terminal payments
- Digital ordering (e-commerce) payments
Payment types
Map non-card payment types, for example, Cash, Room charge, Wire transfer, Voucher, etc., to PMS accounting categories. As with cards, separate mappings can be configured for POS terminal and digital ordering channels.
