How to set up an integration with ResDiary

To create a ResDiary integration, locate it in the Mews Marketplace and add it to your system, just like you would for any Marketplace integration. After adding the integration, you need to get the ResDiary API credentials from your ResDiary account and add those to the Mews integration. This gives Mews the credentials it needs to use when making a connection to ResDiary.

Step 1: Set up and configure an account with ResDiary

If you want to use ResDiary in conjunction with Mews, you need a ResDiary account. You can learn more about this on the ResDiary website. You can contact ResDiary via [email protected], for both onboarding and support.

On creating your ResDiary account, make sure to set up the following settings. Mews pulls these across automatically, using the integration.

  • Restaurant sites or venues
  • Restaurant areas
  • Promotion codes
  • Visit times
  • Cancellation reasons

Step 2: Add a ResDiary integration to your Mews account

To create a ResDiary integration,

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu > Mews Marketplace.
  2. Search for the integration by typing the name in the search bar.
  3. Click Explore. Then click Connect integration.

Step 3: Get the ResDiary API credentials

To get a set of ResDiary API credentials:

  1. Send an email to ResDiary at support@ResDiary.com to request a set of ResDiary API credentials.
  2. Check your email for a response from ResDiary that contains the credentials.
  3. Keep the credentials secure and do not share them with unauthorized individuals.

Note: The integration requires specific credentials that differ from regular ResDiary login details. Use the credentials provided by ResDiary in the following format:

  • Login: Your property name, for example, [email protected]
  • Password: A long, secure password, usually autogenerated by ResDiary

Step 4: Enter the ResDiary API credentials

To enter the ResDiary API credentials:

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu > Mews Marketplace > My subscriptions.
  2. Locate the integration. Click Edit to go to the settings page.
  3. Enter a suitable Name and add the Username and Password from the ResDiary API credentials.
  4. Select the appropriate Department to notify the users in that department about ResDiary booking changes.
  5. Click Save.

Step 5: Test the integration

Once you set up the ResDiary integration, test it to make sure it is working as expected. Follow the steps in How to create, modify or cancel a ResDiary table booking. Check the booking by logging on to your ResDiary account and confirm the booking is as expected.
