You can add an early check in fee as a product within your bookable service to allow your guests to check in early for a fee and thereby maximize revenue during check in. This charges guests who want to check in via kiosk before the arrival time set by your property. Once you configure it, Mews Kiosk prompts guests when they enter their name or confirmation number. They can then decide to proceed with check in for a fee or decline and come back at the designated check in time. You need to connect a Mews Terminal to your kiosk to take payment for early check in fees.
Note:
- If you do not configure a check in grace period or an early check in fee, guests can check in early for no charge.
- If you configure a check in grace period but do not configure an early check in fee, guests cannot check in until after the grace period.
How to set up an early check in fee
- In Mews Operations, go to the main menu
> Settings > Services > Stay.
- Click on Products.
- Click the + button on the right-hand side, and then click on Product.
- Fill in the following fields:

- Name: Enter Early check in fee.
- Short name: Enter a short name.
- Price: Select Fixed.
- Amount: Enter the amount you want to charge.
- Currency: Select your currency from the drop down.
- Charging: Select Once
- Consumed at: Select Reservation start.

Click Create.

In your Mews Kiosk settings, under Early check in fee select the product you created above.
