How to update a card preauthorization amount in Mews Operations

Mews Operations users with permission to create and manage payments can update a credit card preauthorization amount. After you create the initial preauthorization, you might need to update the amount to cover additional charges, such as incidentals.  You can update the preauthorization amount from the Payments section of a customer or company profile. This ensures that the preauthorization balance is up to date and is sufficient to cover the guest’s upcoming charges.

Note:

•    For online preauthorizations, you can only update Visa, Mastercard and Discover payments.

•    For preauthorizations via the Mews Terminal, you can update Visa, Mastercard, and Discover payments. You cannot update Amex preauthorizations. For more information see our Preauthorization FAQs.

•    You can only modify the preauthorization amount a maximum of 10 times.
