How to update sellable product prices in bulk in Mews POS

In Mews POS you can use an Excel file containing your products and update all your products at once.  This is called the Product template. You download the product template from the Mews POS web dashboard, and you use it to update details of multiple products. This can be useful when changing the details of multiple products on your menu, for example, updating multiple prices when you update your menu.

 Note:  

• Only employees with full access permissions can update the prices in Mews POS. 
• This method only applies to fixed prices. You cannot update products with a variable price via the product template.

 

To update the product prices in bulk in Mews POS: 

1. In the web dashboard, click Products. 
2. Click the Product type drop-down and click Sellable to filter all sellable products.
3. Click  and then click Download as XLSX under Export products, to download a pre-filled list of your products. 

4. Open the file using a spreadsheet editor, such as MS Excel or Open Office Calc.
5. In the product import template file: 

1. Delete all the rows with products that do  not require a price update. Note: Delete the entire rows,  not just the content.
2. Type the new price into the Price column to update the prices for your remaining products. Note: Use numbers only, do not use any currency symbol.

 

 

6. Save the edited file. 
7. In your Mews POS web dashboard, go to Products.
8. Click the product type dropdown and click Sellable to filter all sellable products.
9. Click  and then click Import Products.
10. On the Product import screen: 

• • Drop your file into the highlighted section, or
  • Click Select a file to upload your file.  
    
    

This imports the products from your file and updates the sellable product prices.
