Note: Multicurrency by Mews is currently rolling out to all regions and may not be available in your region at this time.
Multicurrency by Mews Payments enables clear currency conversion when guests pay for rooms and services via Payment links, the Booking Engine and Mews Terminals. Mews enables Multicurrency by default for eligible properties. With Multicurrency guests can view the cost of the room or service in their preferred currency. They can then pay for these rooms or services using their currency with transparent fees. In addition, your property claims a portion of the transaction fee as revenue which creates an additional revenue stream.
To use Multicurrency with a Mews Terminal:
- In Mews Operations, open the customer's profile.
- Click the Billing tab. Find the bill you want to settle.
- Click Process payment.
- Click Terminal.
- Review the payment details and make any necessary changes. Note: Mews automatically pre-fills payment details, such as the amount.
- Click Submit.
- The amount of the transaction appears on the Mews Terminal.
- Tap or insert a payment card to the Mews Terminal.
- Mews detects the currency of the card, and a Select Currency screen appears. The terminal displays the breakdown of the exchange rate the system uses for this transaction, and the fees Mews incurs for using Multicurrency.
- Tap one of the currency options to pay in that currency.
This completes a transaction with Multicurrency via a Mews Terminal.
