Multicurrency by Mews Payments - Payments FAQ:

Multicurrency by Mews Payments enables transparent currency conversion for eligible card payments processed through Mews Payments across your property: online, at the front desk, and in your outlets.

Multicurrency applies to payments taken via Booking Engine, Payment Requests, Mews Terminals in Mews Operations, Mews POS for in-person payments, and Mews Kiosk.

Mews enables Multicurrency by default for eligible properties. With Multicurrency, guests can view the cost of the room or service in their preferred currency. They can then pay for these rooms or services using their currency with transparent fees. In addition, your property claims a portion of the transaction fee as revenue which creates an additional revenue stream.

Note

  • Mews Terminal S1 and S2 support Multicurrency for payments taken in Mews Operations, Mews POS for in-person payments, and Mews Kiosk.
  • Multicurrency does not apply to POS Digital Ordering payments.
  • Multicurrency for Mews Terminals will be available in the United States and Canada later this year.

In this article, you can find answers to the following frequently asked questions:

Online Payments

Is Multicurrency available for payment requests from the billing screen?

Not at this time.

Why did the amount for a transaction change between viewing the checkout screen and paying?

The system requests the currency conversion quote from Stripe when the system opens the checkout screen initially and requests a further update when it processes the payment after the guest clicks pay. In some instances there can be fluctuations in the quote Stripe sends between these two periods. The system informs guests that an update may occur during payment processing. The Terms & Conditions also contain this detail.

Payment Terminals
