Managing the Mews Compliance Suite

The Mews Compliance Suite brings together the features and integrations your property needs to meet its tax and fiscal obligations in your country. It is a single subscription that you purchase from the Mews Marketplace. Once it is active, you can enable the features and integrations available in your country, such as Tax Automation, Tax Intelligence, e-invoicing, e-reporting, or a cash register integration.

Disabling a feature or integration only means you stop using it. Your Compliance Suite subscription stays active, and you continue to pay for it. To stop paying, delete the Compliance Suite from the Marketplace.

In this article, you can learn about:

How the Compliance Suite works

The Compliance Suite is the subscription. Inside it are the Tax Automation and Tax Intelligence features and the fiscal integrations for your country, such as e-invoicing or e-reporting. You can only use them while the Compliance Suite is active.

  • One subscription, everything included: fiscal integrations, Tax Automation, and Tax Intelligence are all included in the price of the Compliance Suite.
  • You decide what to use: once the Compliance Suite is active, you choose which features and integrations to enable, and when.
  • Features and integrations depend on your country: each country has its own set, based on local rules. See The Compliance Suite in your country.

Getting started with the Compliance Suite

Step 1: Purchase the Compliance Suite

In this step, you add the Compliance Suite to your property's subscription.

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu > Marketplace.
  2. Search for Mews Compliance Suite and open it.
  3. Click Subscribe.
  4. Read and accept the terms and conditions.
  5. Click Purchase.

This adds the Compliance Suite to your subscription.

Step 2: Enable the features and integrations you need

In this step, you enable the features and integrations available in your country. How you enable each one depends on its type:

  • Fiscal integrations, such as e-invoicing or e-reporting: enable them from the Marketplace. Search for the integration, open it, and check the Enabled box.
  • Tax Automation and Tax Intelligence: these are features, not fiscal integrations, so you do not enable them from the Marketplace. Once the Compliance Suite is active, a Tax automation tab appears in Mews Operations under the main menu > Settings > Property > Finance > Tax Configuration. Set up Tax automation from there. Tax Intelligence is available in Finance straight away.

Note: To find out which features and integrations apply to your property, see The Compliance Suite in your country.

Disabling a feature or integration

While the Compliance Suite is active, you can disable Tax Automation or any fiscal integration and keep the rest running. For example, you can disable Tax Automation and keep your e-invoicing integration working, or the other way round. Tax Intelligence cannot be disabled. It stays available as long as the Compliance Suite is active.

Note:

  • When you disable a feature or an integration, that part of compliance is back in your control. Refer to your country’s page for information on what changes when you disable.
  • Disabling a feature or integration does not change what you pay. Your Compliance Suite subscription stays active until you delete it from the Marketplace. See Pricing and billing.

Fiscal integrations, such as e-invoicing, e-reporting, or a cash register:

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu > Marketplace.
  2. Search for the integration and open it.
  3. Uncheck the Enabled box.
  4. Click the trash can icon in the top right corner of the integration page.

Tax Automation:

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu > Settings > Property > Finance > Tax Configuration.
  2. Open the Tax automation tab.
  3. Click Delete.

This deletes your Tax automation configuration.

Enabling a feature or integration again

You can enable Tax automation or any fiscal integration again at any time, as long as the Compliance Suite is still active.

  • Tax automation: In Mews Operations, go to the main menu > Settings > Property > Finance > Tax Configuration, open the Tax automation tab, and set it up again as you did the first time.
  • Fiscal integrations: In Mews Operations, go to the main menu > Marketplace, search for the integration, open it, and check the Enabled box.

Pricing and billing

The Compliance Suite has a fixed monthly rate per property. All the features and integrations available in your country are included.

CurrencyFixed monthly rate
Australian dollarAUD 45
Canadian dollarCAD 40
EuroEUR 25
British poundGBP 22
US dollarUSD 30

  • Disabling a feature or integration does not change what you pay. This applies to both fiscal integrations and Tax Automation.
  • You are charged even if you are not using any features or integrations. The subscription stays active until you delete it.
  • To stop being charged, delete the Compliance Suite from the Marketplace. This is the only way to end the subscription.

If you disable all your features and integrations but do not delete the Compliance Suite, it keeps appearing on your monthly invoice.

Before you delete the Compliance Suite

Deleting the Compliance Suite from the Marketplace ends your subscription. Before you do, make sure that:

  • You know how you meet your tax and fiscal obligations without the Compliance Suite. What this means depends on your country and on the features and integrations you were using. See The Compliance Suite in your country.
  • You have exported what you need. If you want to keep reports or fiscal records for your files or for an audit, export them before you delete the Compliance Suite.
  • You have deleted or disabled your fiscal integrations. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu > Marketplace, search for each fiscal integration you use, and delete or disable it.

Purchasing the Compliance Suite again

To use the Compliance Suite again, purchase it again from the Marketplace, following the same steps as in Getting started with the Compliance Suite. Tax Intelligence is available again in Finance straight away. The rest does not restart on its own:

  • Fiscal integrations, such as e-invoicing, e-reporting, or a cash register: in Mews Operations, go to the main menu > Marketplace, search for the integration, open it, and check the Enabled box.
  • Tax Automation: set it up again from the Tax automation tab in Mews Operations under the main menu > Settings > Property > Finance > Tax Configuration.
