Mews Events is the native event management system (EMS) of the Mews operating system, built for independent and mid-scale properties managing meetings, seminars, group dining and group accommodation. It handles enquiries, quotes, digital signing, function sheets, deposits and group room blocks, working alongside Mews Operations and Mews Payments. It is designed for properties where MICE and group bookings represent a meaningful but not dominant share of business, typically 1–10% of total revenue.

In this article you can learn about how to:

01 Get started

1.1 Prerequisites

Mews Operations must be live, with bedrooms and accounting categories configured before EMS onboarding can begin. All products used in event quotes, such as catering, AV, and room hire, must first be configured as Additional Services in Mews Operations. Mews Payments is required for deposit payment requests.

1.2 How onboarding works

  1. Kick-off call: Scope, timeline and configuration prerequisites are confirmed.

  1. PMS preparation: Event-related products, pricing and VAT are set up as Additional Services in Mews Operations; this is typically the most time-consuming step for the property.

  1. Events configuration: Meeting spaces, Event Plans, the guest-facing enquiry flow, quote templates, instalment schedules and cancellation policies are configured across two dedicated one-hour onboarding calls.

  1. Go-live: The property team processes its first live enquiries and quotes with onboarding support; a Mews University learning path supports self-paced training.

1.3 Indicative activation timeline

Typically, 2 to 4 weeks from completed PMS prerequisites, driven mainly by your property's product setup work in Mews Operations.

Onboarding is available in English, French, Dutch and German language. Note: German language is at limited capacity; lead times can be longer.

1.4 What the Partner needs to provide

  • Meeting space details: rooms, capacities, layouts and pricing

  • Event products configured as Additional Services in Mews Operations, with VAT rates

  • Quote content: terms, cancellation policy selection and instalment/ deposit schedule decisions

  • Segment decisions for Event Plans, for example, which spaces, products and prices are visible to what enquiry types
