Mews displays inaccurate translations

If you have your Mews profile set up in a language other than English, it might happen that sometimes the system displays odd translations as depicted below:

  • New reservation screen, example in French (literal translations and translated days of the week):

  • Reservation module, example in French (inaccurate phrasing and customer's name translated):

The reason why some translations are inaccurate and the system behavior is affected is that you have an external translation extension activated.

In the example above, Google Translate was re-translating words that were already in French.

In order to avoid this, you can either:

  • Disable the automatic translation on your browser.
  • Set it up to not translate automatically.
  • Disable the extension for the current website.

Keep in mind that the settings can change depending on the browser and the translation tool you are using. Here's how you can set up Google Translate Extension.
