If your property is using Mews Channel Manager for the first time, you now see the Revenue workspace in Mews. Until now, the Revenue workspace was only available to properties using Mews Revenue Management System (Atomize). With Mews Channel Manager, this dashboard is available for everyone, as that is where you manage your distribution channels.
This article shows you around the Revenue workspace from a Mews Channel Manager perspective. It covers where to find the Channels screen, where to monitor how your channels are performing, and which other Revenue features you can use even if you are not using the Mews Revenue Management System.
In this article, you can learn about:
Navigating the Revenue workspace in Mews Operations
The Revenue workspace is one of the main workspaces in Mews, alongside Reservations, Operations, and Profiles. You access it from the workspace selector on the left of the screen.
The Revenue workspace is organised into three sections:
- Overview: Gives you a daily summary of how your property is performing and how your channels are syncing.
- Insights: Contains dashboards for tracking performance over time, including channel performance. Note: This screen is only available for Mews RMS customers.
- Tools: Contains the screens where you manage your rates, restrictions, pricing, and channels.
What you see inside each section depends on the Mews products you use. If you are on Mews Channel Manager Core or Pro subscription tier, you see everything you need to manage your channels. If you also use Mews Revenue Management System, you see additional pricing and forecasting features.
The Revenue Overview
The Overview is the first screen you see when you open the Revenue workspace. For Mews Channel Manager users, the most useful part of the Overview is the Channel status widget, which shows the sync status of every connected channel across your rate plans and space types.
Each channel is marked as one of the following:
- Synced: Meaning your rates and availability are up to date on the channel
- Updating: Meaning changes are being sent to the channel now
- Missing mapping: Meaning a room rate is not mapped and needs attention
- Not selling: Meaning the channel is connected but not currently selling that space
From here you can jump straight to the Channels screen to resolve any issues.
Tools
Under Tools, you find the day-to-day screens for managing your distribution:
- Channels: Where you set up, configure, enable, and monitor every channel, including your Mews direct booking engine and your online travel agencies. This is the main screen for Mews Channel Manager.
- Rates: Where you manage the rates that flow to your connected channels.
- Restrictions: Where you set closed to stay, closed to arrival, minimum length of stay, and other restrictions that are sent to your channels at check-in time.
- Group pricing: Where you view and edit prices across dates and rates, and see which channels your rates and restrictions apply to.
- Allowances: An allowance is a prepaid credit included in a reservation that guests can spend on selected products or services during their stay. This tool allows you to set this up.
Insights
Under Insights, you find dashboards for tracking performance over time. Dashboards such as Pickup, Occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR, apply to your whole property. You can use them whether or not you are on Mews Revenue Management System.
Pricing
On the pricing screen, you can view your set prices, update them, review your daily pickup and occupancy, and filter results based on channels, rates, service, and categories. The pricing screen consists of three different views:
- Monthly view: You can see prices, pickup, and occupancy for a specific stay, rate, space category, and channel. You can click a date to get further information and set prices and pricing rules. Note: This is the default view.
- Weekly view: You can see all space categories for a selected service at the same time, to review and compare their prices.
- List view: You can see all dates for a selected period, up to a year, and perform similar operations as in the monthly view.
