The Mews Compliance Suite in France

The Mews Compliance Suite helps French properties meet their taxe de séjour, e-invoicing, and e-reporting obligations. In France, it includes Tax Automation, Tax Intelligence, and the France e-Invoicing and e-Reporting integration. You purchase the Compliance Suite once from the Mews Marketplace and then choose which features and integrations to use.

Tax Intelligence

Tax Intelligence is a dashboard and report in Mews Operations under the main menu > Finance > Tax Intelligence. It shows the taxe de séjour you collected and the exemptions you applied, and gathers the data you need for your declaration in a document you can export.

  • Dashboard: person nights, both taxable and exempt, a breakdown of tax collected by rate, and a month-by-month trend.
  • Monthly report: tax collected, occupancy, including room nights, person nights, and arrivals, and accommodation revenue split into taxable and exempt.
  • Exemption log: exempt stays, guests, and person nights grouped by reason, with a line for each guest.
  • Flexible and exportable: filter by week, month, quarter, or a custom period, and export to PDF or Excel.

Note: Tax Intelligence exports the data but does not submit your declaration. The report only includes stays where all bills are closed. Each stay is counted in the month of check-out.

Tax Automation

The taxe de séjour is set by each commune, and departmental and regional surcharges can apply on top. Rates and rules change often. Tax Automation generates the right tax configuration for your property and keeps it up to date.

  • Set up in minutes: In Mews Operations, go to the main menu > Settings > Property > Finance > Tax Configuration, open the Tax automation tab, and enter your address, latitude and longitude, and property details. The star rating and category, such as 4 stars Superior, matter most, because they can change which taxes apply.
  • Configuration generated for you: Mews works with a specialist tax data provider to find the taxes that apply to your property.
  • Always up to date: when a tax authority publishes a change, your rates update automatically. You do not need to check anything manually.

You can watch a short overview in the video Tax Automation in Mews.

E-invoicing and e-reporting

France's e-invoicing reform requires VAT-registered businesses to exchange invoices with other French businesses as structured e-invoices through an approved platform, a Plateforme Agréée, and to report other sales to the tax administration through e-reporting. The France e-Invoicing and e-Reporting integration has been available in Mews since 19 August 2026 and is part of the Compliance Suite, alongside Tax Automation and Tax Intelligence.

Note: If you already use e-invoicing in Mews, nothing changes for you. Your integration and its configuration stay exactly as they are, whether or not you also use Tax Automation and Tax Intelligence.

  • Business-to-business e-invoicing: invoices to French businesses are sent automatically through an approved platform when you close the bill.
  • Business-to-government e-invoicing: invoices to public bodies are sent through Chorus Pro.
  • E-reporting: sales to private guests and cross-border business sales are reported to the tax administration.
  • Status on screen: check whether each invoice was accepted in Mews Operations under the main menu > Finance > Fiscal record report.

Key dates:

DateWhat happens
1 September 2026All businesses must be able to receive e-invoices. Large and mid-sized companies must send them and start e-reporting.
1 September 2027Small and micro companies must send e-invoices and start e-reporting.

What you need to do:

  • If you already use e-invoicing in Mews: nothing. Your setup carries over as it is.
  • If you do not use it yet: set up the integration in the Marketplace with your SIREN and SIRET numbers and the details of the person legally allowed to sign for your company. Sign and upload the agreement, and add your Chorus Pro credentials if you invoice public bodies. Make sure each business customer's SIREN is on their company profile.

Disabling Tax Automation

You can disable Tax Automation at any time. Disabling it does not stop your Compliance Suite subscription, and the other integrations in your Compliance Suite stay unchanged.

  • Your configuration is deleted. Your accommodation tax rates are no longer updated automatically, so you need to check and update them yourself in Mews Operations under the main menu > Settings > Property > Finance > Tax Configuration. Tax Intelligence stays available in Finance as long as the Compliance Suite is active.
  • To enable it again, open the same Tax automation tab and set it up again as you did the first time.

To stop paying, delete the Compliance Suite from the Marketplace. To learn how the Compliance Suite works and what to check before you make a change, see Managing the Mews Compliance Suite.

Pricing

The Mews Compliance Suite costs EUR 25 per property per month. In France, it includes:

  • Tax Intelligence
  • E-invoicing and e-reporting
