Understanding the Sales Analysis report in Mews POS

The Sales Analysis report is one of the sales reports in Mews POS that provides an overview of a restaurant’s sales performance within the selected timeframe. You can use the information in the report to make data-based decisions to optimize sales and increase profitability by adjusting your product offer, pricing, and marketing strategy.

Note:  

  • Only users with ‘Can view reports’ permissions can view and download the report. You can review user roles in Settings > Roles.
  • To receive emails about your sales at the end of each day, enable daily sales summary option in your profile settings.

Understanding the fields in the Sales Analysis report 

 
After you download the report, you can see the following fields: 

  • Property name: The name of the property. This is visible only when you have a property portfolio. 
  • Date: The day of the sale.  
  • Item Name: The name of the menu item. 
  • SKU: Stock Keeping Unit, the unique identifier used to identify and track products. 
Note: The Family Group, Family, and Sub-Family is only available in France, Poland, and Spain. 
  • Family Group: The item’s group family. 
  • Family: The item’s family.  
  • Sub-Family: The item’s sub-family. 
  • Revenue Centre: The name of the business operation responsible for generating a company’s sales revenue, for example, a snack bar, or a coffee counter. 
  • Outlet: The name of the chosen Outlet. The outlet is a building, a portion of a building, or a separate structure used for the sale of food and beverages, for example, a restaurant, a rooftop bar, or a pool. 
  • Quantity Sold: The number of units sold during the reporting period. 
  • Gross Sales: Total potential sales before discounts and returns. 
  • Discounts: The discounts applied on the item. A discount is a reduction from a regular or listed price. 
  • Net Sales: Total net sales, or your gross sales minus the returns and discounts.  
  • Average Net Sales: The Net sales divided by the number of units sold.  
  • Total % of Net Sales: The percentage of net sales from these items during the selected timeframe.
