The Sales report in Mews POS is an overview of all sales that Mews POS processes when taking orders. It contains all information on revenue you receive via invoices and provides a breakdown such as payment method, tips, outlets and more. When you access the report, you can use the report to analyze your performance of sales. This is useful for gaining insight into your financial operations and how it impacts the performance of your restaurant operations.
Note: Only users with ‘Can view reports’ permissions can view and download the report. You can review user roles in Settings > Roles.
Understanding the fields in the Sales report
Note: The Sales report in Mews POS contains most of the data relevant to daily operations but does not contain all available Sales data. You can obtain all available sales data when you download the Cumulative sales report.
To access the Sales report from the Mews POS web dashboard:
- Click Reports.
- Click Sales.
- The system displays the report. Note: The system displays the current day's sales by default.
- Click the drop-down containing the date range to set the time frame for the report.
- Search and filter the report according to the following fields:
- Revenue Centers: Click the drop-down to select a revenue center. Mews POS displays results for that revenue center.
- Outlets: Click the drop-down to select an outlet. Mews POS displays results for that outlet.
- Registers: Click the drop-down to select a register. Mews POS displays results for that register.
- Categories: Click the drop-down to select a product category. Mews POS displays results for that product category.
- Users: Click the drop-down to select a user. Mews POS displays results for that user.
- Show per day: Check the box to display sales per day.
The Sales report displays a cumulative report on all sales across multiple categories. Mews POS separates this into multiple sections:
- Sales: Provides general sales data broken down by:
- Gross sales: The count and total of all sales.
- Refunds: The count and total of all refunds.
- Discounts: The count and total of all discounts.
- Total collected: The total amount you collect.
- Taxes: The total amount of taxes you collect.
- Net sales: The amount of net sales after deductions for tax.
- Surcharges: The amount of surcharges you collect.
- Gratuities: The amount of tips you collect.
- Covers: The amount of covers.
- Failed PMS requests: The count and total of invoices that the system fails to send to the PMS integration.
- Taxes: Provides data on the amount of tax you collect broken down by:
- Name: The name of the tax rate.
- Subtotal: The amount you apply to this tax rate.
- Amount: The total amount of tax you collect for this tax rate.
- Discounts and surcharges: Provides data on the number of discounts you give and surcharges you apply, broken down by:
- Discounts: The count and total of discounts you apply to invoices
- Surcharges: The count and total of surcharges you apply to invoices.
- Payment Methods: Provides data on sales you take with various payment methods, broken down by:
- Name: The name of the payment method.
- Count: The quantityof payments you take with the payment method.
- Total: The total amount you collect with the payment method.
- Users: Provides data that relates to users, broken down by:
- Name: The name of the user.
- Surcharges: The amount of surcharges that the user collects.
- Gratuities: The amount of tips that the user collects.
- Count: The quantity of invoices that the user processes.
- Total: The total amount that the user collects.
- Average: The average amount that all users collect.
- Revenue by center and category: The following sections display sales data by Revenue center. Each Revenue center is broken down by:
- Category: The product category.
- Covers: The amount of covers.
- Quantity: The amount of sales for the product category.
- % of total: The percentage of total sales amount for the product category.
- Total: The total amount you collect for the product category.
- Categories: Provides data for sales for product categories, broken down by:
- Name: The name of the product category.
- Quantity: The quantity of sales for the product category.
- Tax: The amount of tax you collect for the product category.
- Total: The total amount you collect for the product category.
- Food/Beverage: Provides data comparing sales of food categories against drinks categories, broken down by:
- Name: The name of the product category.
- Quantity: The quantity of sales for the product category.
- Tax: The amount of tax you collect for the product category.
- Total: The total amount you collect for the product category.
- Products: DProvides data for individual products, broken down by:
- Name: The name of the product.
- Quantity: The amount of sales for the product.
- % of total: The percentage of total sales amount for the product.
- Total: The total amount you collect for the product.
- Product bundles: Provides data for product bundles, broken down by:
- Name: The name of the product bundle.
- Quantity: The amount of sales for the product bundle.
- % of total: The percentage of total sales amount for the product bundle.
