Why does the occupancy of the Manager report not match the Reservation report?

Depending on your settings, you may find that the Reservation report’s confirmed number of reservations does not match the Manager report’s occupied spaces.

Understanding the discrepancy between the reports

Mews considers a space occupied if at least one reservation is allocated in a space during the service occupancy period. You can learn more about how Mews calculates occupancy here.

Given that each space has two options, occupied or available, Mews decides which option applies based on the presence or absence of a reservation within that space during the Service occupancy hours. How to configure the occupancy period?

If you pull the Reservation report with this information in mind, and select the correct occupancy period, the Reservation report will match the Manager report.

Note: if you still see a discrepancy after setting up the correct parameters, check on the timeline if there are reservations checking in and out in the same room, as those reservations are considered as one occupied space in the Manager report but two confirmed reservations in the Reservation report.

Fixing the occupancy discrepancy

Your occupancy period should begin later than the latest acceptable check out and should end before the earliest check-in. For example, if your property accepts 11 a.m. early check-ins and 6 p.m. late check-outs, to match the reports, you should modify the occupancy period to go from 7 p.m. to 10 a.m.
