How to adjust the rate pricing for availability blocks in Mews Operations

When you create an availability block in Mews Operations, the system copies the selected rate's adjustments for each day and space category. You can offer different pricing beyond the standard rates, for example, when you want to provide a discounted price for a larger group. To customize the rate for your specific group, you need to adjust the rate pricing from your block’s dashboard.

 

Note: You can also add product rules to rates. This allows you to automatically add products, such as breakfast when picking up reservations in an availability block. You can learn more about packaging products with accommodation using product rules here. 



To adjust the rate pricing of an existing block:

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu  > Reservations > Availability block report.
  2. Click on the block for which you want to adjust the rates.
  3. In the Settings section, next to Rate, click . This opens the rate’s Pricing tab.
  • To update the pricing for a space category for specific dates:
    1. Click a cell next to the space category you want to adjust. 
    2. Click to select the interval and the days for which you want to adjust the rate.
    3. Override: Enter the new price for the selected days.
    4. Click Override.

  • To update the base rate price for a space category:
    1. Click Adjust next to the name of the space category.
    2. Base adjustment category: Select the base price for the space category. 
    3. Relative adjustment: Type in a relative adjustment as a percentage. For example, for a base price of €200, if you add 10%, the new price adjusts to €220. 
    4. Absolute adjustments: Type in the adjustment as an exact amount. For example, for a base price of €200, if you add 20, the new price adjusts to €220.
    5. Click Update.

Your rate pricing instantly updates for your selected space category. 


Note: Adjusting the base rate,

  • does not affect any Product rules attached to the availability block. 
  • affects all future reservations picked up from a block from both channel connections and the Mews Booking Engine. 
  • does not affect the price of reservations already picked up.
