How to create a pricebook in Mews POS

Pricebooks in Mews POS enable you to manage pricing of your products across different outlets and situations. You can price your products differently depending on if guests purchase them to take-away or eat-in, or if guests purchase them in your bar or restaurant. Mews POS allows you to manage multiple pricebooks, which you can apply to different outlets, revenue centers and situations. You need to enable the pricebook on the outlet before you can use it.

 

Note: Pricebooks do not currently apply to menus and only affect the product shortcut grid prices.

 

To create a pricebook from the Mews POS web dashboard:

1. Click Products.
2. Click Pricebooks.
3. Click .
4. In the New pricebook side-window,  enter the following details:
   • Name: Enter the name of the pricebook.
   • Type: Click the drop-down to select the pricebook type:
     • Automatic: Apply the pricebook automatically based on the Outlet or Revenue Center you select.
     • Manual: Apply the pricebook manually when you place an order in the Mews POS Android app.
     • Eat in: Apply the pricebook when guests select orders to eat in.
     • Take out: Apply the pricebook  when guests select orders to take out.
   • Outlets: Click the Search drop-down to select the outlet this pricebook applies to. Note: You can type into the search bar to quickly locate an outlet.
   • Revenue Centers: Click the Search drop-down to select the revenue center this pricebook applies to. Note: You can type into the search bar to quickly locate a revenue center.

• Starts at: Click  to select a start date if applicable.
• Ends at: Click  to select an end date if applicable.
• You can configure the pricebook with a combination of Products and Categories. To configure a Product:

4. • • Product: Click the Search drop-down to select a product.. Note: You can type into the search bar to quickly locate a product.
     • Click the checkboxes to select all the VAT options that apply to the product.
     • Price: Enter the price including tax for this product when this pricebook is active.
   • To configure a Category:
     • Category: Click the Search drop-down to select a category.  Note: You can type into the search bar to quickly locate category.
     • Discount: Enter the discount Mews POS applies to the category when this pricebook is active.
5. Repeat step 4 for any additional products or categories
6. Click SAVE.
7.  Reload the Mews POS application running on your Android devices to synchronize the changes.

 

This creates a new pricebook in Mews POS.
