iDEAL is an online payment method that allows guests in the Netherlands to pay through their own bank. Dutch properties can configure iDEAL as a payment method for their guests to make payments in the Mews Booking Engine, at online check-out, and via payment requests. This is useful for guests who do not have a credit card. You can enable iDEAL payments for your property at any time by configuring the Mews Alternative Payment Methods integration from the Mews Marketplace.
Note:
- iDEAL is only available for properties using Stripe to process payments, and only for rates with a partially or fully paid payment policy, for example, non-refundable rates.
- If you offer both fully flexible and non-refundable rates in the Mews Booking Engine, Mews recommends that you choose either Not required for fully or partially paid bookings or Not required for fully paid bookings for the Payment card input option when configuring your Mews Booking Engine.
To configure iDEAL as an alternative payment method:
- In Mews Operations, go to the main menu
> Marketplace.
- Click More categories > Payments.
- Find the Mews Alternative Payment Methods integration and click Explore.
- Read the Description and Terms and conditions, then click Connect integration to activate the Mews Alternative Payment Methods integration.
- Click OK to dismiss the popup window confirming that the integration is active.
- To verify that iDEAL is active, go to Marketplace > Payments > My subscriptions, find Mews Alternative Payment Methods and click Edit. Ensure that the slider switch next to iDEAL is Enabled. Note: If you want to deactivate iDEAL as a payment method, you can do so here by clicking the slider switch to Disabled and clicking Save.
This configures iDEAL as an alternative payment method at your property.
