How to configure payment methods in Mews POS

Mews POS allows you to use any payment method you need for your property, including cash, card, vouchers, mobile payments, or the charge to room option. With the Mews POS web dashboard, you can configure certain settings for each payment method, for example, to enable opening the cash drawer or to activate tipping.  To add a new payment method in Mews POS, contact Mews POS support at [email protected]

Note:  You need the Can administer merchant account permission to configure your payment methods. 

To configure a payment method from the Mews POS web dashboard:

  1. Go to Settings > Payments.
  2. Click  next to the payment type you want to configure.



  3. Name: Enter a name for the payment method, this appears on the Mews POS app.
  4. Open cash drawer: Click the slider switch to enable opening the cash drawer when customers pay with cash.
  5. Activate tipping: Click the slider switch to enable tipping on the Mews POS app. Note: You can learn how to enable and configure tips here.
  6. Generate fiscal record Click the slider switch to create a fiscal record for this payment type. Fiscalizable payment type means transactions done using this payment method comply with the local fiscal regulations. Note: To fiscalize or remove fiscalization for a payment type, you need to contact the Mews POS support team.
  7. Click Save to update your payment method settings. 

This configures a payment type for use with Mews POS.
