If you get the error message "The encoder that you have entered in the Mews key cutter settings does not exist in the lock software." it's because your door lock software does not find that particular encoder in its system.
When setting up your key cutter integration in Mews, you also need to map each of the key encoders that will be used. The key encoder identifier is taken from what you set up in your door lock software.
When a user tries to create a key, they select the specific encoder device to use, this is how the door lock software knows which encoder should be used to create the key cards.
To prevent the error message, follow these steps:
- Go to Main Menu > Marketplace > My subscriptions.
- Go to your key cutter integration > Key cutters.
- Check that the value entered in the Identifier field matches the encoder Identifier or Name in your door lock software.
Note: Sometimes, the error can be caused by a typo. Try to copy and paste the exact content from your door lock software into Mews.
