Guest attributes in Flexkeeping are visual indicators that inform users when a guest requires special recognition, attention, or handling. Guest attributes are either managed manually by the property or filled in automatically from your property management system, or PMS. A property management system is the software your property uses to manage reservations, for example Mews Operations. You assign guest attributes on the Space Management page in the Flexkeeping web app, and only to rooms with an active reservation. Once a guest attribute is assigned, the guest attribute is displayed on the Status View with a diamond icon and the corresponding label.

How to use guest attributes in Flexkeeping
Guest attributes in Flexkeeping mark a reservation so that users know when a guest requires special recognition, attention, or handling.
What types of guest attributes there are in Flexkeeping
In Flexkeeping, there are two types of guest attributes:
-
Common attributes: guest attributes managed manually by the property.
-
Integration attributes: guest attributes filled in automatically based on the data received from your property management system, or PMS. The availability and type of integration attributes depend on the PMS your property is using.
The difference between the two types is who adds the guest attribute: a user at the property adds a common attribute, and the PMS integration adds an integration attribute.
How to assign guest attributes to reservations in Flexkeeping
You assign guest attributes on the Space Management page, which is opened through the address /guest_attribute/space_edit. The Space Management page lists all rooms at the property. On the Space Management page, you can see whether a room is occupied or unoccupied:
-
If the room is unoccupied, guest attributes cannot be added.
-
If the room has an active reservation, that is, a room in arrival or occupied status, a + icon appears in the relevant column.
The screenshot shows the Space Management page with the + icon for a room that has an active reservation.
To assign a guest attribute to a reservation:
-
In the Flexkeeping web app, open the Space Management page through the address /guest_attribute/space_edit.
-
Find the room with the active reservation.
-
Click the + icon in the relevant column.
-
Select the guest attribute you want to assign.
-
Save your changes.
Once applied, the guest attribute is displayed on the Status View with a diamond icon and the corresponding label.
How integration attributes depend on your PMS
The specific integration attributes that are available depend entirely on the options and capabilities offered by your property management system, or PMS. Consequently, integration attributes vary from one PMS provider to another.
For detailed and specific information relevant to your PMS, contact your Onboarding Manager or the Flexkeeping Support Team. They can provide the necessary information for your particular integration. To learn how to contact Flexkeeping support, go to How to report an issue to Flexkeeping support.
