How to find and solve overbookings?

When new bookings are created, they are automatically allocated to a space on the Timeline. If you have created more reservations than the number of spaces available, Mews automatically creates overbooking slots to place the reservations until they are moved to an empty space. These slots are displayed as red line on the Timeline.

How to find an overbooking:

  1. Go to the Reservation report from the dashboard or Main Menu > Reservations > Reservation Report
  2. Use the following filters:
    • Mode: Detailed
    • Filter: Arrival
    • Start: Today’s Date
    • End: As far into the future as you wish to go.
    • Status: Confirmed and Optional.
    • Group By: Space
    • Requested Category: Selected the category the overbooking applies to. You can also leave it blank to see all the overbookings.
  3. Click View Report.
  4. To see the reservations that haven't been assigned to a space, check the Unassigned section at the top of the report.

How to solve an overbooking:

  1. From the Reservations report, open the reservations under the section Unassigned.
  2. Click on the timeline icon in each of the reservations to be taken to the exact slot on the Timeline.
  3. Drag and drop the reservation on an available space,
