Understanding the fields in the report
The report displays each item with the following information:
- Customer: Name in Mews customer profile where the card is registered.
- Number: Card number, displayed with only the last 4 digits. Cards run through Adyen also include the first 6 digits.
- Type: Here you can find a list of all card types supported by Mews Operations.
- Name: Name of the card holder. You need to enter this exactly as displayed on the card.
- Identifier: If the card is tokenized through Mews Payments and usable for future online charges, you can view the
tag.
- When you hover over the token, you can view the unique identifier for that card consisting of numbers, letters, and an underscore, indicating compliance with the highest payment security standard, PCI DSS and alignment with GDPR guidelines.
- The identifier is also visible in the payment section of guest profiles. You can learn more about reviewing your fees regarding card protection and tokenization here.
- Expiration: Date that the card expires and becomes invalid; if the card has an Expired badge, you can no longer charge it.
- Created: Date and time that the card was created in system, along with the employee who added that card information.
- Notes: Any additional notes regarding that card. If you received the card information via a third party integration, the report states that information here.
- Status: If the card has a Disabled badge, you can no longer charge it.
- Click the
icon to the right of the Status column to open the menu. You can choose from the following actions:
- Preauthorization: Click to create a new preauthorization for an existing card, or select New payment card from the drop-down to add a new card.
- Card payment: Select to make a payment with an existing payment card or select New payment card to make a payment with a different card.
- Disable: Select to disable the card from charging in the future. The cardholder won't be able to see their payment card in the guest journey.
- Clear: Select to clear card data including cardholder name, payment tokens and any notes. Mews clears the personal information about the cardholder and the card won't be visible to the guest in the guest journey. Only the last four digits of the card number remain on the guest's profile, so your past reports and payment data are still available for reporting purposes.
