The global search is the search bar in Mews Operations located at the top of the Mews Dashboard. The global search prioritizes results based on factors like stay dates and guest status, helping you find the most relevant information first. The search results also give you access to common tasks, for example, create a new company, new reservation or new customer.
You can use the global search to:
- navigate to specific web pages,
- find reservations, bills, customers, groups,
- find results by telephone numbers, email addresses, loyalty membership numbers, license plates and partial names,
- pin your favourite searches, by clicking as in the screenshot below.
Note:
- In house guests appear at the top of the search results.
- To only search for room numbers, type # before the number, for example, #201. If you search without #, the search bar displays other numbers that include your query in them, such as emails, phone numbers, confirmations, and room numbers.
To use the global search:
- In Mews Operations, go to the global search bar located at the top of the Mews Dashboard.
- In the global search, enter your query. You can enter partial matches, first names, last names, email addresses, telephone numbers or specific terms, for example, “Product report” or “Joh” for John Smith. The search filters your results according to categories such as groups, availability blocks, spaces.
- Click the appropriate result. Note: The global search categorizes results into different tabs. You can click these tabs to filter your results. Once you click on a tab, you can also filter these categories further. For example, you can filter reservations, bills and spaces by status or filter customers by the VIP or In house tags.
- Once you click on a result, Mews opens the relevant page.
At the end of your search result, there is also a Command section. From here, you can quickly access common tasks, for example, create a new company, new reservation or new customer.
