How to set up outlet printer preferences in the Mews POS web dashboard

When you connect a printer to Mews POS, you can print orders, receipts and kitchen tickets. To set up a printer, you must set up the printer for use on an outlet. Using the Mews POS web dashboard, administrators can set up printers and outlets to a configuration that works best for your restaurant operations. You can add several printers to an outlet and configure order printers to print particular categories only. For example, you may want to send food orders to the kitchen printer, drinks to the bar printer, and receipts to the receipt printer.

 

To configure printer preferences in the Mews POS web dashboard:

  1. Click Settings.
  2. Click Outlets.
  3. Click an outlet from the list. The outlet side window appears.
  4. Click .
  5. Scroll down to Printers section:
    • Click NEW PRINTER to assign a new printer to the outlet, or
    • Click to select a printer from the list and click EDIT.
  6. Complete the following fields:
    • Name: Enter a name for the printer, for example, Bar, Kitchen.
    • Printer class: Click the drop-down to select the printer.

    • Printer Category: Click the drop-down to select the connection method of the printer.

    • Auto-print mode: Click the drop-down to select how many invoice receipts the printer automatically prints.
    • Page width: Click the drop-down to select the width of the page.



    • Device address:
      • LAN printer: Enter the IP address, for example, 123.12.33.44.
      • BT printer: Enter MAC address, for example, 123:12:33:44.

    • Receipt type: Hold CTRL and click to enable which receipts the printer should print. Note: Ensure these options are enabled ​​​​​​​in the Mews POS application.

    • Categories: Hold CTRL and click to enable which product categories the printer should print.
    • Model: Enter the model number of the printer.

  1. Click SAVE.

 

This configures the printer for use with an outlet for Mews POS.
