What is the difference between Inquired, Optional, and Confirmed reservations?

 

Confirmed - the reservation is confirmed by all parties. From Confirmed it can only be moved to the Canceled status.

 

Optional - the reservation is not yet confirmed by the guest or employee. The room is already taken out of availability, but it is not generating revenue. From Optional it can be moved either to the Confirmed or Canceled status.

 

Inquired - the reservation is not yet confirmed and it can be canceled or confirmed only by the employee. The reservation is not being assigned to a room, therefore doesn't affect availability (and doesn't generate revenue). From Inquired, it can be moved either to the Optional, Confirmed, or Canceled status.
