When you configure a stay service in Mews Operations, you choose how dependent rates calculate their prices so that your pricing strategy matches your property setup. You do this when setting up or updating services, especially before configuring rates, to control whether pricing applies to the total stay or only to standard occupancy.
Note:
- It is not currently possible to remove a single adjustment in the rate adjustments form — you can only clear all adjustments at once.
- To remove a single adjustment, set the value to 0 and click Override.

-
Go to main menu
> Settings > Services

Click the Dependent rate price derivation dropdown to select one of the following options:
-

-
Standard occupancy only: The dependent rate applies the adjustment only to the standard occupancy. Extra guests are priced using per-guest adjustments.
For example, for four adults in a double room on a ten percent discount rate, the price is ten percent off the two person price plus two extra guest adjustments.
-
-
Select Save.
Note: The selected mode applies only to new reservations. Existing reservations remain unchanged.
Selecting the appropriate mode
Mews Operations has two options:
-
Use Total stay price to keep your current pricing behavior where the dependent rate applies to the full occupancy price.
-
Use Standard occupancy only to apply the dependent rate to standard occupancy and manage extra guest pricing separately.
