How to set pricing for dependent rates in Mews Operations

When you configure dependent rates in Mews Operations, you set how prices change based on occupancy, dates, room categories, and guest age so that your pricing reflects your revenue strategy. You do this in the pricing grid when creating or updating dependent rates.

Note:

  • It is not currently possible to remove a single adjustment in the rate adjustments form — you can only clear all adjustments at once.
  • To remove a single adjustment, set the value to 0 and click Override.

To set per-guest pricing and age-based pricing

In Mews Operations:

  1. Go to main menu Mews Operations Menu Icon > Settings > Services

  2. Click on a bookable service, for example, Stay.

  3. Click Rates.

  4. Locate the rate you want to edit and click the name to open it.

  5. Click . Mews opens the Pricing screen.

  6. In the pricing grid, click next to a rate that displays . Mews opens the Override price side panel.

 
  1. Complete the following fields:

    • Negative adjustment: Enter the amount Mews deducts from the price if there are fewer guests for the room. Note: You can use both positive and negative values.

    • Extra adjustment: Enter the amount Mews adds for additional guests for the room. Note: You can use both positive and negative values.

    • Children 0-5:

      • Standard adjustment: Enter the amount Mews adjusts for the initial inclusion of children 0-5 years old for the room. Note: You can use both positive and negative values.

      • Extra adjustment: Enter the amount Mews adjusts for the inclusion of extra children 0-5 years old for the room. Note: You can use both positive and negative values.

    • 6‐18:

      • Standard adjustment: Enter the amount Mews adjusts for the initial inclusion of children 6-18 years old for the room. Note: You can use both positive and negative values.

      • Extra adjustment: Enter the amount Mews adjusts for the inclusion of extra children 6-18 years old years old for the room. Note: You can use both positive and negative values.

    • 65‐120:

      • Standard adjustment: Enter the amount Mews adjusts for the initial inclusion of adults aged 65‐120 years old for the room. Note: You can use both positive and negative values.

      • Extra adjustment: Enter the amount Mews adjusts for the inclusion of extra adults aged 65‐120 years old years old for the room. Note: You can use both positive and negative values.

  2. Click Override price.

To set pricing by date or room category

In Mews Operations:

  1. Go to main menu Mews Operations Menu Icon> Settings > Services

  2. Click on a bookable service, for example, Stay.

  3. Click Rates.

  4. Locate the rate you want to edit and click the name to open it.

  5. Click  . Mews opens the Pricing screen.

  6. Complete the following actions:

    • To set pricing for a room category, click next to the room category name, or,

    • to set pricing for a specific date range and room combination, click directly inside the pricing grid.

  1. in the Pricing grid click the Start and End drop downs to select a date rate.

  2. Click OK.

 
  1. Complete the following fields:

    • Fixed adjustment: Enter an amount to adjust the price by a fixed amount. For example, 130 EUR

    • Percentage adjustment: Enter an amount to adjust the price by a percentage. For example, 75%

  2. Click Override price.

To override inherited pricing

Note This is relevant when using occupancy-based pricing.

In Mews Operations:

  1. Go to main menu Mews Operations Menu Icon> Settings > Services

  2. Click on a bookable service, for example, Stay.

  3. Click Rates.

  4. Locate the rate you want to edit and click the name to open it.

  5. Click . Mews opens the Pricing screen.

  6. in the Pricing grid click the price you want to edit, Mews displays the Override price side-panel.

  7. Under Adjustments, click Occupancy to view additional options.

  8. Complete the following fields:

    • Default Adjustments:

      • Negative adjustment: Enter the amount Mews deducts from the price if there are fewer guests for the room. Note: You can use both positive and negative values.

      • Extra adjustment: Enter the amount Mews adds for additional guests for the room. Note: You can use both positive and negative values.

    • Children 0-5:

      • Standard adjustment: Enter the amount Mews adjusts for the initial inclusion of children 6-18 years old for the room. Note: You can use both positive and negative values.

      • Extra adjustment: Enter the amount Mews adjusts for the inclusion of extra children 6-18 years old years old for the room. Note: You can use both positive and negative values.

    • 65‐120:

      • Standard adjustment: Enter the amount Mews adjusts for the initial inclusion of adults aged 65‐120 years old for the room. Note: You can use both positive and negative values.

      • Extra adjustment: Enter the amount Mews adjusts for the inclusion of extra adults aged 65‐120 years old years old for the room. Note: You can use both positive and negative values.

Note: Entering a value overrides the inherited value from the base rate. Leaving a field empty keeps the inherited value.

This sets pricing for dependent rates in Mews Operations.
