How to delete a local product linked to a central product in Mews Multi-Property

You can delete local products linked to a central product in Mews Multi-Property to organize and update your product offering to ensure consistency across multiple properties. You need to remove the local product from the central product itself. This deletes it from all configured services within the selected property and unlinks it from the central product. Once you delete a local product, you cannot undo it. You can only delete a centrally-managed local product in Mews Multi-Property, you cannot delete it in Mews Operations on the PMS level.

Note: You cannot delete a local product if:

• A guest can book it or add it to a reservation,
• It maps to an active channel manager,
• It is part of an open reservation, or
• It has active dependent products.

 

To delete a local product that is linked to a central product:

1. In your portfolio account, go to the main menu  > Products > Central products tab.
2. Click the central product that has the local product linked to it, then click the Properties tab.
3. Click  next to the property that has the local product assigned to it > > Delete.
4. After you confirm deletion, the system shows a success or error notification:
   • Success notification: The system has successfully deleted the product from all configured services within the property. The local product variant is no longer linked to the central product.
   • Error notification: The system could not delete the product from one or more configured services within the property because it is in use by one or more of these services. The local product remains until you resolve this.

This deletes the local product and removes it from the property and all assigned services.
