How to modify a local product linked to a central product in Mews Multi-Property

In Mews Multi-Property, you can modify local products that are linked to central products without modifying the central product itself. This is useful in if you need to adjust product details for one specific property without modifying it across all your properties. This helps ensure accurate pricing, correct product display for guests, and up-to-date configurations for services. You can only make these updates from the Products screen in Mews Multi-Property. You can only edit the Category and Classifications fields on the PMS level for centrally-managed products. 

To modify a local product that is linked to a central product:

1. In your portfolio account, go to the main menu > Products.
2. Click the Central products tab, then click the product you want to modify.
3. In the side-window, click the Properties tab > find the property you want to modify the product for > click :
   • Click the General tab, then click  to modify general details, for example, adding languages.
   • Click the Pricing tab, then click to modify pricing details, for example, base price, tax rate and how to apply to new price.
   • Click the Services tab, then:
     1. Click to modify service-level product details, for example, product availability, pricing adjustments and how to apply the new price. Note: You cannot edit charging or timing after the product is assigned to a service. To change these, remove the product from the service and add it again.
     2. Click Add to service to assign the central product to a new service. Note: This feature is in beta testing and is not currently available for all properties.
   • Click the Accounting tab, then click to modify accounting details, for example, accounting category, rebate accounting category and cancelled item category.
4. Click Save.

This modifies a local product that is linked to a central product in Mews Multi-Property.
