You can link additional products, such as Product orders, Service charges, and Custom items directly to a reservation in Mews Operations. You can do this to enhance the guest experience, accurately track charges, and measure revenue per reservation. This feature gives you a clear view of reservation costs and improves your financial reporting by automatically associating all charges with the correct reservations. You can perform this action anytime during the guest's stay within Mews Operations.
To link additional products to a reservation:

Locate the customer with the reservation to which you want to link the additional product. To do so, in Mews Operations:

type the name of the customer or company in the Mews search bar.

Click the Billing tab, then click the relevant Reservation bill.

Click Add Product.

Click to select the product category you want to link to the reservation from the drop-down list or type keywords into the search.

Mews displays the Add product side-window. You can specify the required details for the product under the following two tabs:

- Link product to reservation: Click to select or search for the reservation you wish to link to the product from the drop-down menu. Note:

If the guest has multiple reservations on their profile, Mews displays them all, including past and future stays. You need to manually select the reservation to which the payment should be linked.

Mews prefills the drop-down menu with the reservation closest to being checked in. You can choose to link it to another reservation or not link it at all.

If the guest has only one reservation on their profile, Mews automatically pre-fills the reservation in the drop-down menu.

If you do not want to link the payment to any reservation, select Do not link to reservation from the drop-down menu.

Service charge: Enter the service charge amount. Note: Mews displays this option only if the service charge is editable. If not, Mews displays it as read-only in the Additional settings tab.

Notes: Enter any notes relating to the product. Note: Mews displays this option only if notes are mandatory. If they are not, Mews displays the field in the Additional settings tab.

Search products: Enter key words into the search to locate your desired product to link to the reservation. Note:
- Link product to reservation: Click to select or search for the reservation you wish to link to the product from the drop-down menu. Note:

Mews displays this option only when the product list exceeds five.

Mews filters the product list depending on your search results.

Quantity: Click – or + to set the product quantity.

Amount: Mews displays the product amount and currency.

Date: Click to select the product consumption date.

Time: Click to select the product consumption time.

Tax rate: Click to select the tax rate from the drop-down menu.

Segment: Click to select the product segment from the drop-down menu.

When you select a product, Mews displays a total below the product list. The total shows the number of products and total amount for those products. Ensure all details are correct.

Then to finalize the changes, click Save.
The result of linking additional products to a reservation is as follows:

Mews displays the additional products inside the relevant reservation bill on the Billing tab of the customer profile.

Mews displays the remaining balance for a reservation on the Billing tab of the customer profile, helping you track the outstanding reservation balance.

Mews displays the reservation number in the export of the Accounting report, allowing you to see all costs and payments related to that reservation for reconciliation purposes.
