How to map room rates to a channel in Mews Channel Manager

Mapping room rates in Mews Channel Manager lets you tell Mews which room categories and rates correspond to the ones the channel is selling. Without this mapping, Mews cannot link bookings from the channel to the correct rooms and prices at your property. For most channels, Mews reads the channel's room rates automatically and offers a best-guess match based on names. You can review suggested matches and accept mappings or change the mapping manually.

As a property employee setting up Mews Channel Manager, you do this to ensure availability, pricing, and reservation data sync correctly. You complete this process when adding a new channel in Mews Channel Manager.

Note:
Not every channel supports automatic reading of room rates. If your channel does not, you enter the room rate names manually instead. For the differences between the mapping scenarios, see Understanding room rate mapping scenarios in Mews Channel Manager.

Prerequisites

Before you start mapping, make sure:

Coordinating with the channel extranet

You may need to make changes on the channel extranet while you are mapping in Mews. For example, if a channel rate is not visible or has a different name than expected.

To coordinate the two systems:

  1. Keep the channel extranet open in one tab and Mews in another.
  2. Make your changes on the extranet, for example, adjust a rate name or add a missing rate.
  3. In Mews Operations, select Refresh from channel to re-read the channel's rates.
  4. Confirm that the changes appear in the mapping tab and continue.

Any rates you add or rename on the extranet appear in Mews after a refresh.
