Note
- This feature is currently in beta and is not yet available for all properties.
A broadcast message sends a single message to a group of guests at once: for example, a lobby maintenance notice to everyone in-house today, or a promotional offer to arriving guests. You send a broadcast as a front desk agent, marketing manager, or other staff member in Mews, in Guest messenger, when you need to reach several guests with the same message without creating chats one by one. Each guest receives the message as an individual chat, so their replies come back to your inbox privately.
Note
- Guests reply to a broadcast the same way they reply to any other chat: through their channel of choice. Their replies land in your Chats inbox as normal one-to-one conversations.
In this article, you can learn about:
How to send a broadcast message to guests
Send a broadcast message
-
Go to the main menu > Guest messenger.
-
Click the dropdown arrow next to + Create chat in the top right.
-
Select Broadcast message.
-
Set your audience filters in the Send to row (see Choose your audience).
-
Type your message in the Enter a message box.
-
Check the guest count on the right of the Send to row: it updates as you change filters so you know exactly how many guests will receive the message.
-
Click Send.
Choose your audience
You narrow a broadcast down to the guests you want to reach using three filters:
-
Guest group: for example, All guests or a specific classification such as VIP or Loyalty program.
-
Stay status: for example, In house, Arriving, or Departing.
-
Date: for example, Today, or a custom date range.
The guest count on the right of the Send to row updates in real time so you can see how many guests match before you send.
Follow up on replies
Each guest receives your broadcast as an individual chat in whichever channel they use to communicate with your property. Their reply arrives in your Chats inbox like any other conversation.
To hide broadcast-originated chats from your view, click Filter above the Chats list and toggle Exclude broadcasts under Last message sent from.
You can now reach a group of guests with a single message, see how many will receive it before you send, and follow up on their replies in your regular inbox.
