How to set up or change the minimum and maximum price boundaries in Mews RMS

You set up or change minimum and maximum price boundaries when you define how Mews RMS recommends prices for your spaces. As a revenue manager or property team member, you do this to control how low or high prices can go, and to align pricing with your strategy. You typically update these settings when demand changes, during seasonal periods, or when adjusting your pricing approach. You manage price boundaries in Mews RMS, in the Pricing tab under Revenue settings. This means Mews RMS can optimize prices automatically while you stay in control of the minimum and maximum range. You need access to Revenue settings in Mews Operations to manage price boundaries.

In this article, you can learn about:

How to set default minimum and maximum price boundaries

To set the default minimum and maximum price for each space category in Mews Operations:

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu Main menu  > Revenue > Pricing.
  2. Click , then click the Pricing tab.
  3. Click Default.
  4. Enter the Min. price for each space category.
  5. Enter the Max. price for each space category.
  6. Enter a Min. offset value if needed to maintain a price difference between space categories.
  7. Click Save.

These settings define the price range within which Mews RMS generates price recommendations for each space category.

For example, you set a higher minimum price before a peak season to avoid underpricing high-demand dates.

How to create seasonal price boundaries

To create seasonal price boundaries to apply different price boundaries during specific periods:

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu Main menu > Revenue > Pricing.
  2. Click , then click the Pricing tab.
  3. Click Seasonal.
  4. Click Create season.
  5. Enter a Name for the season.
  6. Click the Season start and Season end fields and enter or select your dates. Note: Seasons recur annually.
  7. Enter the Min. price and Max. price for each space category.
  8. Select how to apply the hierarchy:
    • All days: Applies the same minimum and maximum price boundaries across all days of the week during the selected season.
    • Custom per day: Lets you set different minimum and maximum price boundaries for individual days of the week within the season. Any days you do not configure fall back to the default hierarchy.
  9. Click Save.

The seasonal hierarchy applies your defined price boundaries during the selected dates, while the default hierarchy applies outside those dates. Seasonal hierarchies recur every year.

For example, you create a Christmas season with higher minimum and maximum prices for increased demand.

Note
  • Seasonal hierarchies cannot overlap. Each season must have unique dates.
  • You can create up to 10 seasonal price hierarchies.
  • If you select Custom per day but do not set new limits for all days of the week, the days that have not been modified fall back to the default hierarchy for those days.

How to change price boundaries for specific dates

  1. In Mews Operations, go to main menu > Revenue > Pricing.
  2. Click a stay date in the calendar, or switch to list view and click a date. The daily view opens.
  3. In the Price boundary card, click Override price hierarchy.
  4. Enter the Min. price and Max. price for the selected space categories.
  5. Click Save.

You can also apply price hierarchy overrides across multiple dates:

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu Main menuRevenue > Pricing.
  2. Click Edit prices.
  3. Click the date fields and select the start and end dates.
  4. In the Override type field, click the dropdown and select Price hierarchy.
  5. Enter the Min. price and Max. price for the selected space categories.
  6. Click Save.

The same boundaries apply across all selected dates. This override allows Mews RMS to continue optimizing prices, but only within the updated boundaries. For example, you increase the maximum price for a specific weekend with high demand.

With price boundaries configured, Mews RMS generates recommendations within your defined range for every stay date and space category.
