Long-stay services in Mews Operations help you provide longer-term accommodation and services like monthly parking, fitness packages, and co-working memberships

 

Mews supports long-stay services in a way that increases your productivity with optimized workflows and simplifies the management of your long-stay reservations.

Note: Maximum booking durations for long-stay services are:

  • monthly reservations: 5 years
  • daily reservations: 370 days
  • hourly reservations: 370 hours

You can see the long-stay occupancy overview in your Timeline. 

  1. Click on the Timeline icon to access the Timeline.
  2. From the  drop-down menu, choose Month.
  3. Click on the Filter icon.
  4. From the Select service filter, choose a bookable service that you want to check the occupancy for, for example, Stay.
  5. Choose the rest of the filters as required.
  6. Click View timeline. 

 

You can now see an overview of your reservations longer than two weeks in a monthly view. You can also see reservations for up to ten months. 

  • For long-stay services, this gives you a quick overview of the gaps in occupancy at your property for any particular month. 
  • This helps you plan your promotions or special offers to create business opportunities in those periods of low occupancy. 

 

When you set up monthly services in Mews Operations, use the View dropdown to refine the Availability & occupancy report by.  

  • Month: To view a monthly breakdown of your monthly services. 
  • Day: To view a daily breakdown of your monthly services for more granular reporting.
    • You can choose to view multiple daily, nightly and monthly services on the same report for consolidated reporting and compare the performance of your services.

 

  • You can offer a single price for your long-stay services. For example, for your monthly services, you can offer a single price for the entire month.  
  • You can modify the price per month as well. For example, January: 1500 euro, February: 1400 euro, March: 1700 euro. 

  

By default, when booking long-stay reservations, Mews blocks the availability and charges the guests for the full month. You can adjust this with a negatively priced product. More information on how to adjust the reservation price here. 

 

To allow guests to book partial months and pay for the exact duration of their stay, consider enabling the Proportional charging of partial months option for your monthly bookable services and their associated products.

 

In Mews, you can bill your long-stay guests, such as those reserving the monthly parking service. 

  • Mews raises a single invoice per month.   
  • The bill lists the long-stay service as a single item.   
  • You need to set the product consumption dates for long stays on the last day of the reservation. 

Note: For accommodation-based services:  

  • Mews does not support city tax as a product. You need to apply it as a product on a nightly basis.
  • Mews currently does not support the drop in VAT on accommodation services after about 28 nights in certain regions.
