Set up and use the Google Ads integration in Mews Business Intelligence

The Google Ads integration connects your Google Ads campaign data with Mews Business Intelligence so you can analyze marketing performance alongside reservation and revenue data. You configure the integration in Mews Business Intelligence Settings to map campaigns to properties and review advertising performance directly in your dashboards.

You use this integration to:

  • Analyze advertising cost per property
  • Compare clicks, conversions, and revenue
  • Measure return on advertising spend
  • Connect marketing activity to reservations and operating revenue

Note: The Google Ads integration is available only with the Mews BI PRO subscription.

In this article, you can learn about:

Note:

  • If access expires or you revoke it, existing data remains available, but Mews Business Intelligence stops importing new Google Ads data.
  • Mews recommends using a shared account to authorize with, for example, [email protected], to avoid situations where the original authorizer leaves your business, and you lose access to the account. This can help you control the security of your account.

Campaign mapping connects Google Ads campaigns to properties in Mews.

  1. In the Campaign Mapping section, click Download template.
  2. Complete the template with the required fields:
  • CampaignName: Campaign name in Google Ads
  • CampaignId: 11-digit campaign ID in Google Ads
  • EnterpriseName: Property name in Mews Note: You can find this in Settings > Property settings in Mews Operations.
  • EnterpriseId: Property ID in Mews
  • Weight: Percentage allocation from 0 to 1

The total Weight per campaign must equal 1.

For example, 1 equals 100 percent and 0.5 equals 50 percent.

The system only supports whole percentage values; for example, Mews supports 1%, but not 1.5%.

  1. Upload the completed template using Choose file in the Import campaign mapping section.

Note: When you update the mapping, the system applies changes only to future data. Historical adjustments require assistance from support.

  1. Click Save.

The system now validates:

  • Google account access to the Manager ID and Customer ID
  • Campaign mapping structure

After validation completes, the integration begins importing data.

Note:

  • Mews Business Intelligence imports 6 months of historical Google Ads data.
  • Historical import may take several hours.
  • New data imports daily for the previous day.
  • Current-day data is not available until the following day.

After data import completes, a new Google Ads Marketing dashboard appears in Mews Business Intelligence.

The dashboard combines Google Ads data with reservation and revenue data from Mews. Google Ads data does not update in real time.

  • Mews Business Intelligence imports a rolling seven-day window to capture delayed updates.

Note: Google Ads reporting may adjust campaign data after the initial day of activity.

Filters available for the Google Ads dashboard:

  • Pickup Period: Controls the Google Ads data time range
  • Check-in Period: Controls reservation and revenue data
  • Reservation Status: Filters the reservation lifecycle status

For example, use Pickup period to review advertising performance and Check-in period to evaluate the resulting revenue.

With the Google Ads dashboard, you can analyze:

  • Clicks: Total number of ad clicks
  • Cost: Total advertising cost
  • Conversions: Number of tracked conversions
  • Cost per acquisition: Advertising cost divided by reservations created
  • Cost per click: Cost divided by clicks
  • Cost per thousand impressions: Average cost per thousand impressions
  • Click-through rate: Clicks divided by impressions
  • Impressions: Number of times ads appear
  • Marketing efficiency ratio: Cost divided by total operating revenue
  • Return on advertising spend: Total operating revenue divided by advertising cost
  • Revenue: Value of tracked conversions

These metrics help you evaluate advertizing efficiency against revenue performance.
