Single Sign-on helps you and your team access Mews Operations securely using your property's identity provider, such as Azure Active Directory, Google Workspace, or Okta. You use Single Sign-on when you want to log in through your property credentials or simplify account management. You set it up in Property settings in Mews Operations. What is Single Sign-on?
Single Sign-on lets you log in to Mews using your property login credentials.
You use it to:
- Manage all users centrally
- Improve login security
- Onboard and offboard employees faster
For example, when a staff member leaves your property, you remove them from your identity provider, and they lose access to Mews automatically.
How do I enable Single Sign-on in Mews?
To enable Single Sign-on you can follow the help article: How to prepare for setting up Single Sign-on or SSO for your Mews account
You do not need to contact Mews support or update your contract.
Do I need to contact Mews to use Single Sign-on?
No. You activate and manage Single Sign-on yourself.
You do not need to:
- Sign a new contract
- Pay extra
- Request activation from Mews
You need to only configure your settings and accept the terms.
Do I pay for Single Sign-on?
No. Mews includes Single Sign-on as a free core platform feature.
You do not pay for it, and you do not see it on any invoice.
What happens to my existing Single Sign-on subscription?
If you already pay for Single Sign-on:
- Mews ends your subscription
- Mews stops charging you
- You do not receive a refund
- You do not need to take action
Note: Mews ends your subscription for traceability. Your access stays active.
What do I need to use Single Sign-on?
You need:
- A business email domain, such as @youranygroup.com
- An identity provider, such as:
- Azure Active Directory
- Google Workspace
- Okta
Note: Single sign-on does not work with free providers like Gmail or Hotmail.

No. All users for the domains you set up must belong to the same identity provider.
If your organization uses multiple providers, choose one and make sure all users for the connected domains are managed there.
What happens if I cannot enable Single Sign-on?
If you cannot use Single Sign-on:
- The feature stays inactive
- You keep using the Mews system normally
- Mews explains why Single Sign-on is unavailable

Why should I use Single Sign-on instead of time-based passwords?
Single Sign-on gives you stronger security and more control.
- Remove user access from one central place
- Apply your property’s password rules
- Use advanced tools like location restrictions or login alerts
TOTP (authenticator apps):
- Still rely on manual codes
- Are easier to phish
- Take longer to disable for former staff
Do I need to accept new legal terms?
Yes. One administrator accepts the Single Sign-on Terms of Service in-app.
This covers your entire property or group.
Note: Mews records who accepts the terms and when.
Why is Mews offering Single Sign-on for free now?
Mews is making this change now because:
- Phishing attacks are increasing rapidly
