The Rates screen in Mews Operations

The Rates screen displays all the rates you create. Rates determine how you sell a space or service by combining a price with cancellation and payment policies, restrictions and certain conditions such as visibility or status. You can use the Rates screen to view, create, modify or delete rates at any time. 

To view the rates screen in Mews Operations, go to the main menu Menu arrow right  > Settings > Services > select a Bookable Service > Rates.

Setting the filters 

You can filter the Rates screen according to specific fields. To filter: 

  1. Click Filter  next to the field you want to filter, for example, Base rate.
  2. Enter the term you want to find or select from the available options.This filters the rate. You can add multiple filters to narrow your search further. You can also:
  • Click arrow-up-24  next to the name of the column to sort in ascending or descending order, or
  • Click Group by in the top right corner or click more_24  > Group by this column next to the column name to group fields by column, such as Visibility or Segment

Understanding the fields 

The Rates screen contains the following columns: 

  • Rate name: The name of the rate.
  • Base rate: The independent rate this rate is dependent on. 
  • Rate group name: The rate group the rate belongs to.
  • Ordering: The order in which you want Mews to list your rates. Note: Lower number positions are higher in the list, for example, 0 is higher than 1. 
  • Rate group ordering: The order in which you want Mews to list your rate groups. Note: Lower number positions are higher in the list, for example, 0 is higher than 1. 
  • Visibility: The visibility of the rate, such as, Public or Private
  • Short name: The abbreviated name of the rate. 
  • External name: The external name of the rate Mews displays for customers in emails and the Mews Booking Engine. 
  • Segment: The segment that Mews assigns to customers who use this rate. 
  • Status: The current status of the rate, such as, Activated or Deactivated
  • Default: The rate’s default status, such as, Yes or No.

Using the Rates screen  

In the Rates screen, you can: 

  • Click + Create rate to create a new rate.
  • In the rate’s Action column, click more_24 , then:
    • View details: To view configuration details. 
    • Edit details: To edit configuration details.
    • Copy rate ID: To copy the rate’s ID to your clipboard.
    • Activate rate: To activate a deactivated rate.
    • Set as default: To set this rate as your default rate. 
    • Delete: To delete a rate. 
  • In the rate’s Action column, click pricing-24  Pricing to go to the rate’s pricing screen. 
  • Use the search bar to search for specific rates or fields. 
  • Click manage column  to remove or pin specific columns.
