If you notice that key cards stop working earlier or later than expected, it is related to the time zone set on your computer.
How is the time sent and converted in the Mews Connector application when a key is created
- Mews sends the arrival and departure times of the reservation to Mews Connector in UTC time.
- Mews Connector takes the time zone of the computer and converts UTC time in the original message to the property's local time.
- Mews Connector sends the converted time to the door lock's server application.
- The door lock's server application processes the message and sends it to the encoder, which encodes the key.
How to find the discrepancy between the time ins the system and the time in the key
Ensure that the following have the same time zones:
- Computer where the Mews Connector application is installed.
- Computer where the lock software server application is installed.
- The lock software/management system itself.
If the issue persists across different reservations, and the time zones are aligned across all systems and machines, contact your door lock software provider for further assistance.
It can be helpful to compare the key creation messages logged in your door lock software against what is sent from Mews Connector. Ask your lock vendor to help you retrieve system or event logs.
