Young Global Living for Mews Operations

You can learn more about the Young Global Living integration here. For any specific questions, you can reach out to [email protected].

Here are some things to know before you set up the Young Global Living integration for Mews Operations:

  • If you're already live with Mews, Mews does not configure the entire channel manager integrations for you. If you have any problems fixing the mapping errors within Mews, contact the Mews support team to help you troubleshoot.
  • This channel is a two-way connection meaning that Mews manages availability, rates, and restrictions. The system pushes reservations from Young Global Living into Mews.
  • If you already have a contract with Young Global Living, click Connect integration.

In this article you can learn how to set up the Young Global Living integration in Mews Operations:

Step 1: Connect Young Global Living

  1. Go to the main menu image.png > Marketplace.
  2. Under Categories, click Distribution.
  3. Locate the Young Global Living integration and click Explore.
  4. Click Connect integration.

Note: Young Global Living works with mapping codes generated in Mews or Young Global Living.

Step 2: Update mapped space categories

When you connect the Young Global Living integration, Mews automatically maps all your space categories.
If you don't want Mews to send a space category to Young Global Living, you can remove it.

To remove mapped space categories

  1. Go to the main menu image.png > Marketplace > My subscriptions.
  2. Locate the Young Global Living integration and click Edit to go to the settings page.
  3. Click Channel manager rates.
  4. Find the rate that the space category is connected to, and click on the Channel manager ID.
  5. In the Channel manager categories section, find the space category you want to remove and click the icon.
  6. Click Delete.

Repeat steps 4-6 for every space category that you don't want to send to Young Global Living. If you need to add more space categories in the future, you can manually map them.

To manually map space categories

  1. Go to the main menu image.png > Marketplace > My subscriptions.
  2. Locate the Young Global Living integration and click Edit to go to the settings page.
  3. Click Channel manager categories.
  4. Click +.
  5. In the Channel manager ID field, enter a unique code for this space category. Mews recommends that you create a short code to describe the space category, for example, "PRES" for "Presidential Suite". Make sure not to include spaces or special characters.
  6. Under Category, select the space category you want to send to Young Global Living.
  7. Select the Synchronized checkbox to send availability updates to the channel manager. Note: If a space category is unsynchronized, Mews doesn't send any updates.
  8. Click Create.

Repeat steps 4-8 for every space category that you want to map.

Step 3: Update mapped rates

When you connect the Young Global Living integration, Mews automatically maps all your public rates.

Note:

  • Mews sends the price and restrictions updates if a rate is mapped and synchronized.
  • Keep rates mapped and unsynchronized if you want to assign reservations to rates but manage prices and restrictions from the channel manager.
  • If you remove rates entirely, reservations are not assigned.

To remove mapped rates

If you want to completely remove a rate so that no reservations can be created with it, delete or unsynchronize the rate in both Mews Operations and Young Global Living. If you want to send private rates, you can manually map them.

To manually map rates

  1. Go to the main menu image.png > Marketplace > My subscriptions.
  2. Locate the Young Global Living integration and click Edit to go to the settings page.
  3. Click Channel manager rates.
  4. Find the rate you want, and click on the Channel manager ID.
  5. Click +.
  6. In the Channel manager ID field, enter a unique code for this rate. Mews recommends that you create a short code to describe it. For example, "NRBB" for a non-refundable rate that includes breakfast. Make sure not to include spaces or special characters.
  7. Under Rate, select the rate you want to send to Young Global Living.
  8. Find the Synchronized checkbox and decide which updates you want to send to the channel manager.
  • Synchronized rates send pricing and restriction updates to the channel manager.
  • Unsynchronized rates don’t send pricing or restriction updates to the channel manager, but can still receive reservations.

If you want to manage rate pricing in Young Global Living rather than Mews Operations, make sure the rate is unsynchronized.

  1. Click Create.

Step 4: Connect space categories to rates

  1. Go to the main menu image.png > Marketplace > My subscriptions.
  2. Locate the Young Global Living integration and click Edit to go to the settings page.
  3. Click Channel manager rates.
  4. Find the rate you want, and click on the Channel manager ID.
  5. Connect the rate to one or more space categories:
  • Click +, and then click + Channel manager category to connect only specific space categories by selecting them from the Channel manager category drop down. For example, if it's a promotional rate. Then click Create.
  • Click the image.pngConnect all icon to connect all mapped space categories to the rate.

Step 5: Mapping products

  2. Locate the Young Global Living integration and click Edit to go to the settings page.

  7. Click Create.

Repeat steps 5-7 for every product that you want to be available via Young Global Living. Repeat these steps with the same rate to package it with multiple products.

Products charged once or per person

You cannot map these products. You need to create a product rule instead.

  1. Go to the main menu image.png > Settings > Services.
  2. Click on your bookable service, for example, Stay.
  3. From the settings menu on the left hand side, click Product rules.
  4. Click the + button.
  5. Choose the condition that the product needs to meet in order for the system to add the product to the reservation. For example, if you want to add the product when the reservation is made with a specific rate:
  • Under Rate condition, select Equals.
  • Under Rate, select the rate you want the product packaged with.
  • Under Origin condition, select Equals.
  • Under Origin, select Channel manager.
  1. Click Create to create the product rule.
  2. In the Rule actions section of the product rule, click + Rule action.
  3. Under Product, choose the product that you want to add to a reservation. The system selects Add under the Action field by default. Note: Choosing Cancel under the Action drop-down excludes the product from the product rule.
  4. Click Create.

Step 6: Map travel agencies

For each travel agency, you need to create a profile/contract and set up mapping. Then, Mews Operations can automatically detect and handle any new reservations from that agency.

With Young Global Living, Mews recommends that you only map the most specific reservation sources. You can learn more about travel agency mapping here.

Step 7: Send mapping information to Young Global Living
