Portuguese accommodation providers are legally required to submit their guest data to the police. You can connect to the Portuguese police integration in the Mews Marketplace to generate formatted and ready to send police reports. Reports are generated daily, and reservations are included in the report the day after arrival. Reports are created in the format required by Portuguese law and can be automatically sent to the property email address.

Note: This is not a direct integration. You need to manually upload the generated report on the Portuguese platform.

How to set up the integration

Mews creates reports per property account in Mews Operations. If your local authority requires you to create reports per address, rather than one report for your entire enterprise, you should:

• create a Portuguese police integration for each address.
• select all space categories located at that address when you set up the integration.

1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu > Marketplace.

2. In the Legal environment section, find the Portuguese police integration and click Explore.

3. Click Connect integration.

4. Fill in your property’s information.

• Use the Space category field to choose which space categories you want to include in the report. This field is useful if you need to create reports per address. Just select all of the space categories located at one address. Note: If you don't specify space categories, the report includes all of your space categories.
• Under Property code, enter the ID you received when you registered with the SEF.
• Under Tax identifier, enter your government tax ID.
• In the Recipient emails field, enter the email address you want to send the export to. This should be someone at your property who sends the export to the Portuguese police.
• If you want to send the police report at a specific time each day, in the Daily report execution time field, enter the amount of time past midnight to send the report. For example, setting Daily report execution time to 10 minutes sends the report each day, at 00:10.

5. Click Create. The report is automatically exported as a DAT file, as required by the Portuguese police.

How to use the integration

The integration collects the details that the Portuguese police require, so you should make sure to complete the following required fields in your guests' customer profiles:

• First name

• Last name

• Nationality

• Birth date

• Identity document information

• Current address

The Portuguese police only require information about guests whose nationality is not Portuguese. If you do not provide a guest's nationality, Mews includes their information in the report by default.

Note: It is extremely important that all customer profile report integrations are set to the correct mode to ensure the consistency of exported data. If you don't use the correct mode, the export fails with an error message. Mews exports all police reports only in the mode that is legally accepted. Mews creates this report with the In house mode by default.
