Generate reports for the ISTAT in Valle D'Aosta

The ISTAT report is a legal requirement for all properties in the Valle D'Aosta region. Connecting to this integration automatically generates the report in the correct format, filled with all necessary information. If your property location is in a different Italian region, please follow the steps outlined in the Generate reports for the ISTAT in Italy help article.

Note:

  • This is not a direct integration. You need to manually upload the generated report on the ISTAT platform.
  • Before connecting to the integration, you need to contact [email protected] to get your credentials.

In this article, you can learn about:

Step 1: Setting up the integration

To create reports for each property account in Mews Operations, especially if you require reports per address instead of a single report for your entire enterprise, you should:

  • Create an Italian tourist export integration for each address.
  • Select all of the space categories located at that address during the setup.

To set up the integration:

  1. In Mews Operations, go to the main menu Screenshot 2024-01-15 at 12.16.40.png  > Marketplace
  2. Search for Valle D'Aosta ISTAT tourist export, then click See more.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. Enter your property's information.
    • In the Space category field, choose which space categories to include in the report. If creating reports per address, select all the space categories located at one address. If you do not specify space categories, the report includes all of your space categories.
    • In the Recipient emails field, type the email address where you want the export sent. This email should belong to someone at your property responsible for sending the export to the ISTAT.
    • To have the police report sent at a specific time each day, enter the time past midnight in the Daily report execution time field. For example, setting Daily report execution time to 10 minutes sends the report each day at 00:10.
  1. Click Create.
  2. Click OK.

Step 2: Verifying and sending the report

  1. Check your email inbox or Mews Operations notifications, depending on what you entered in the Recipient emails field.
    • If the export arrives without an error file, it contains all the required information. You can then send it to the appropriate ISTAT officials for your region.
    • If you receive a zip file containing the export and an error file named error.txt, proceed to the next step.
  1. Open the error file to identify missing information required by the ISTAT in the export and correct it in Mews Operations.
    • Correcting errors directly in the export means you must make these corrections again in the future if a guest with an incomplete profile returns.
  1. Export the report again, ensuring Overlapping is selected under the Mode filter.

Note:

  • You must set all customer profile report integrations to the correct mode for consistent data export.
  • Incorrect mode selection results in an export failure with an error message.
  • Mews sets up all police reports to only allow reports to be exported in the legally accepted mode. This report is created in Mews with the Overlapping mode by default.
  1. Send the report to the designated ISTAT officials for your region.

Step 3: Using the integration

For a complete report, attach every guest to their reservation as a companion with a completed customer profile. This includes named guests who created the reservation; you must still add them as companions.

The required fields for the ISTAT report are:

  • Title
  • Birth date
  • Nationality
  • Address City and Country
  • Gender

Note: The report also contains details about the guest's reservation, such as their room number and arrival/ departure dates.

All Italian properties must also generate a monthly report for the Italian police. This report includes additional required fields, and it can be generated using the Italian police integration.

By following this guide, you have learned to set up the integration, verify and correct report errors, and ensure all guest details meet the ISTAT requirements for your property's compliance with Italian law.
