ISTAT Tuscany region integration, a web service integration
Properties in Italy are required to report all guests that stay overnight to the Italian National Institute of Statistics. The ISTAT Tuscany region integration, which is a web service integration, automatically generates reports for you to send to your ISTAT official. Connect to this integration to automatically generate the report you need in the correct format, with all required information.

Property registration
Hotels need to independently register themselves at the regional ISTAT office, or through this portal, to obtain username, password, region code credentials to set up the integration.

Integration set-up
To set up the integration:
- Go to the main menu
> Marketplace.
- In the Legal environment category, search for the ISTAT Tuscany region integration. Click Explore.
- Select the Service: Stay, and click on Connect Integration.
- Fill in the following details:
- Username, Password, Region code: Properties need to obtain these credentials by registering to the ISTAT portal. Region code name is:
Exercise Code (CodiceEsercizio)in the portal. - Recipient emails: Enter property/ departmental email. You can add multiple emails, but make sure to separate them with a semi colon. Users receive error files as well as a copy of the report to this email. Note: The error file appears only if the required fields in the customer profiles are empty.
- Last successful synchronization: This section shows the last date a report was exported and should always show the previous day. Note: The report shows the previous date in this section only on successful upload.
Using the integration

Required fields
The fields the ISTAT requires for this report are:
- Nationality
- Sex
- Address, including city and country. If a guest is Italian, then also city and state/province

Automatic uploads
- Automatic uploads occur only if customer profiles present in the previous day are complete.
- The integration automatically sends the report once all profiles contain the legally required information.

Unsuccessful uploads
Mews monitors incorrectly uploaded data for fourteen days only, after which the record is reset.- If an upload is not successful the Last successful synchronization field does not show the date from the previous day. Instead, it shows the last day of successful upload. For example, if the report for 05/01/2021 contained missing profiles, the Last successful synchronization section shows the date 04/01/2021.
- If there is missing information on any of the customer profiles at the time of the report export, Mews sends an email to the property, to the address added to the integration in the Mews Marketplace, informing that there is missing profile information in the export.
- The email contains a .TXT file with a list of the customers names where information is missing, as well as the fields that need to be complete.
- Users can set the customer profile report to overlapping mode to review this, or they can review the txt. formatted error file.
All Italian properties also need to generate a monthly report for the Italian police. This report has additional required fields, and you can generate it using the Italian police integration.
