In Mews Operations, you can set up the INE occupancy export integration to automatically generate XML files for Spanish properties. This is useful for properties who need to send a monthly report to Instituto Nacional de Estadística or INE containing their occupancy data. You can download the file from Mews Operations and upload it to the INE website.
Note: This is not a direct integration. You need to manually upload the generated report on the INE platform
In this article you can learn how to set up the integration to schedule the report export in the following steps:
Step 1: Set up the integration
- In Mews Operations, go to the main menu
> Marketplace.
- Use the search bar to find the INE occupancy export integration, then click Explore.
- Click Connect integration.
- Complete the following mandatory fields:
- Name: Enter a title for the export.
- Service: Select your stay service from the drop down menu.
- Tax identifier: Enter your Certificado de Identificación Fiscal, or CIF. This is your property's tax ID, which consists of a letter followed by eight digits.
- Enterprise category: Select your enterprise category assigned by INE.
- Registration number: Enter your property's unique INE registration number.
- Click Create and then click OK.
Step 2: Schedule the export
- In Mews Operations, go to the main menu
> Reservations > Availability & Occupancy report.

- In the Report configuration section, select the following options:
- Mode: Select Occupancy.

- Next start: Select the first day of the next month, for example, November 1st. You can choose the time.
- Frequency: Select Monthly.
- Export target: If you prefer to receive the report by email, you can create a mail export target. Note: If you do not select on the option for this field, you receive a notification in Mews Operations on creation of your export file.
- Options: Select Notify creator about export if you did not select an export target.
- Select the Enabled check box.
- Click Save.
The integration generates your INE report, an XML file, on the first of every month at the specified time. If the export displays status FAILED, then download the "errors.txt" document and fix all the errors before you send the file to INE.
Note:
- INE requires all customers from or residing in Spain to have a complete address in their customer profile, including the Province field.
- The export file can only contain complete customer profiles. The integration lists incomplete profiles in an enclosed ".txt" file.
- You need to manually add the missing information to customer profiles when you receive the export.
Once you successfully download the document in Mews, make sure that you upload the ".xml" file in https://arce.ine.es/ARCE/jsp/index.jsp, under XML-Turismo > Fichero de datos*, as you can see below.
Note: INE suggests to use Explorer browser to load the xml document. In case of an error, you can view the error list through Explorer and report them.
Once you upload the document, INE asks you to review or update the information under Precio y Personal as you can see below.
Once you update the Precio y Personal information, you can Save the document. If everything works correctly, you receive official Nº de Recibo, as you can see below, from the INE.
If the INE website displays an error message when you upload the XML, and you need more information about the error, consult the INE help article. You can also contact Mews for assistance in the following situations.
- The export contains an error file:
- Fix the errors mentioned on the errors.txt in the relevant customer profiles in Mews.
- Generate a new report without errors.
- Upload the new file to the INE website.
- The export does not contain an error file:
- Open a ticket with Mews Support.
- In the ticket, attach the exported XML and a screenshot of the error message from the INE website.
- Attach the XML you exported from Mews and a picture of the error message you received on the INE website.
The same file is applicable to properties that need to apply for EUSTAT.
