D-Edge and Bad authentication error

Mews-D-Edge connection has several security layers and one of them is username and password, which a property adds into D-Edge integration in Mews.

If the username and/or password does not match the ones in D-Edge, inventory update and reservation download operations will automatically get disabled and Mews will trigger a notification email.

D-Edge Notification Email

Why Bad authentication error could happen and what to do?

Credentials were updated in either Mews or D-Edge and this change was not reflected in one of the systems

  • Compare username and password between Mews and D-Edge

  • If they do not match, fix them.

  • Enable disabled operations. Send a push for one day to check if it succeeds (you will receive another error notification email if it fails).

  • If the push succeeds, you do not need to send a manual push. Inventory update for all the changes that were made while operations were disabled will be sent automatically.

  • If the push fails, access the Mews Digital Assistant in Mews Operations and open a support ticket.

D-Edge re-set credentials

  • Compare username and password between Mews and D-Edge

  • If they do not match, fix them.

  • Enable disabled operations. Send a push for one day to check if it succeeds (you will receive another error notification email if it fails).

  • If the push succeeds, you do not need to send a manual push. Inventory update for all the changes that were made while operations were disabled will be sent automatically.

  • If the push fails, access the Mews Digital Assistant in Mews Operations and open a support ticket.

Connection issue

There is also a possibility of a bug, which needs to be confirmed by ruling out the first two options.

  • If username and password match between Mews and D-Edge, but you still received the Bad authentication email.

  • Do not change username and password.
